    3. Hi Katherine Thank you so much for your link to the archives site of NLW. It has enabled me to identify an early ancestor, Evan Gravell, a miller in Cydweli in 1671, mentioned in the Muddlescombe deeds. I had read other information about that estate, but this was a real step forward. Thanks again. Regards Elizabeth ps. I think I have a Gravell-Dwnn connection somewhere, - if you have any information about this I would be garteful if you would pass it on. >

    3. Hi, A rather belated reply as your original e-mail got sent to the delete box by mistake. My connection with the Dwnn family ends around 1500 but I'm always interested in them. I've not heard of a Gravell Dwnn connection, in fact Gravell is a name unknown to me, I wonder where it originated or possibly what it could have been. In Carm Records/Archives there are the original Voters Lists for a no. of parishes for 1722,1727 and 1754. They give parish of residence and parish where freehold land was held. Another much earlier document is being transcribed by the London Branch of Welsh Family History Societies, it is a list by parish of all the people who contributed to the rebuilding of St Paul's Cathedral after the fire of London. I have only seen 2 parish records but they are relatively easy to read and the sums of money vary from 1d to 2s. I'll try looking for a Gravell will for you but will let you know only if I find one.
