I am researching my LANE ancestors who are in Limehouse, Middlesex in the 1841 and 1851 census, then some of them are found south of the Thames. In the 1841 census the wife Constant LANE seems to be a Widow, she is noted as such in the 1851 census. My problem is finding a marriage for them as I have no forename for the groom and no maiden name for Constant. There has been a marriage noted in Ampney Crucis in 1817, which would match the age of their eldest son John 23 in the 1841 census. The marriage is from Pallots and is James LANE marrying Constance WAKEFIELD 1817 Ampney Crucis. Can anyone lay claim to either one of this couple, or is anyone researching LANE and WAKEFIELD ancestors in Gloucestershire. Very kind regards, Cathy in South Australia
