Dear List, Please would there be a kind soul out there that could possibly do a look up for me for a Birth in Stroud. I am still searching for the Birth of George Thomas Davies for approx 1822, he was 30 years on the 1851 Blackburn Census records and it states that he was born Stroud Gloucester. His father was John. Further to Marg's reply, there is also a George in Stroud on HO107/349/14, folio 36, page 2 with presumably father John a Cloth Weaver, mother Mary and 4 siblings - any good? Pat What is your George's occupation and his father John's occupation. There is a George with a John presumably father in the 41 census they are both Forgemen. George born Glos. and family living at Newland, Bream. He might be married to an Eleanor. The census does not give relationships.
