Thank you for you reply ,I hope you can help me in a search for my Grandfather's parence John Lane born 1850=1853 John Lane came to N.Z.on his own and was killed while working on the railway in N.Z. in 1905 age 52. On his death cert, his parence were Henry and Sarah Lane ,[Sarah's maiden name was Sarah Barnes] There address was just Southampton U.K.it was probably the port of departure. I have found 2 Henry and Sarah Lane with a son named John Lane, I cant find the maiden names of the Sarah Lane's 1== Henry and Sarah Lane in 1861cent adress was 12 Aldenham STr. ST Pancras Somers Town Middlesex. 2== Henry F and Sarah Lane 1861 cenc.Henry F Lane addess was Somerset England he was age 27 .Sarah born Middlesex age 22 they had a son who was 5 years old. 3==William Lane marraid a Sarah BARNES dec 1855 in ST Olave Southwark .It is the only Lane i can find who marraid a Sarah Barnes On John Lane's death cert. his Father's was Henry Lane and his mother 's maiden name Sarah Barnes.
