Hello Listers, I am back after a few years away, now after 40years of family history I am attempting to tidy up my files & write up my families for our children & theirs & their grandchildren. Never did I get the chance of visiting or researching in UK so from 12,000 miles I am hoping someone can answer a question today & others that may come up as I edit. Mt late father had a great grandmother Sarah Hayden married 1827 to Nathaniel Thornbury at Hemstead - Littlewood both could sign their marriage Banns. I found a possible birth for Sarah at Dursley to Thomas & Elizabeth. Sarah & Nathaniel had children with these names. Recently an English friend living down here loaned me a CD with "Overseers of the Poor" records with a Hayden family listed. Thomas & Elizabeth as parents & Sarah & Ann as children. In the date column is 1830 for these 4. What does that mean - thats when they were recorded there? or something else. My Sarah married in 1827. Her age in the Poor records would have worked. I have never found anything else on Sarah, Census she gives born in Gloucester. She & Nathaniel spent their married lives in Stroud. Looking forward to a reply. Barbara
