Hi There New to list. I am researching RANDALL/RANDELL the name changed through the years and some still have it the original way. John RANDELL/RANDALL B 23/08/1832 parents Charles B 1800 married Mary Unknown. Looking for Charles Randell/Randall's parents siblings etc and ofcourse what Mary's surname was. I have been given a side line to my John of the Randell/Randall but needing more on my side. John Randall/Randell married Annie Maria Belcher her father was Robert BELCHER b 1803 I am searching for his parents names any siblings etc. Robert Belcher married Maria PARTRIDGE B 1804 I have since found that through the years back Maria belonged to the Partridges of Wishanger Manor Miserden. So anything on the Partridges gratefully received. Thanks Karen New Zealand
Hello Karen, There is a marriage on the Gloucestershire Marriage Index at Cowley on 24 July 1831, by Banns, of a Charles RANDALL and a Mary PAUNTON - any good? Looking at the 1841 census record for your Charles and Mary, they appear to be living in Cowley so the above marriage would seem to be a strong probability. There is an extracted baptism on the IGI of a Robert BELCHER on 4 October 1803 at Duntisbourne Abbots, father Robert mother Ann, which would appear to fit it quite well with his census records, and there are also baptismal records for 8 siblings ranging from 1789 to 1808. There are 6 BELCHER burials at Duntisbourne (1813-1851) on the Gloucestershire Burial Index: 1 November 1828 Charles BELCHER, aged 32 4 January 1832 Chas BELCHER, aged 5weeks 22 July 1833 Robt BELCHER, aged 77 8 August 1838 George BELCHER, aged 12 22 June 1844 Stephen BLECHER, aged 2 days 7 April 1848 Charles BELCHER, aged 14 Trying to find a baptism for Robert BELCHER snr to fit in with the above burial, there is an extracted baptism at Dursley on 1 March 1759 father John mother Jane which may be relevant. Looking at Biglands Memorial Inscriptions of Cowley, there are some earlier RANDALL inscriptions: William RANDELL of Cowley Farm, senior, died Nov 19 1690, aged 75 (this inscription is in the church) William RANDLE was buried Dec 26 1727, aged 75. Mary his second wife was buried July 31 1728, aged 65 (inscriptions on tomb in churchyard) Edward RANDLE died 15 Jan 1749, aged 66 Thomas son William RANDLE died 21 April 1724, aged 37 (these last 2 inscriptions are on flat and headstones in churchyard) HTH Janet
