Hello to the list; I have been looking into the Town of Redbrook and when I Google for it, it comes up in Monmouth. Prior to 1837 was it included into Gloucestershire? Additionally, I have checked the Forest of Dean site on line records and nothing comes up for it, only Newland. Were people born in Redbrook baptized at Newland? or in Monmouth? Thanks for any assistance Glen A. Yearsley
Hi Glen Newland would be the most likely but Monmouth is possible. Newland church is known as "The cathedral of the Forest(i.e. Forest of Dean" and there was not an old church at Redbrook as far as I am aware, the one that is there now is more of a modern ilk although not really modern. You could, however, try Penallt which is on the other side of the River Wye and quite near. I used to teach there and know that there are "out of parish" people recorded there. Who are you looking for? Maybe I can help?
