Hello Pav, In the 1901 census for England and Wales there is an Arthur J Bentley aged 4yrs living with his family on Stockport Road, Levenshulme which is a part of Manchester. Ref: RG13/Piece 3692/Folio 48/Page 5 This Arthur's father is Harold J Bentley and I have found a Harold J Bentley in the 1871 census aged 11 months with his family headed by his father James. Ref: RG10/Piece 3979/Folio 118/Page 11. They are living in Gorton, also a part of Manchester. In both the censuses the father is an employer, Harold being an ?engineer and James a whitesmith and billhanger. None of this is conclusive of course but worth considering. Arthur Joy Bentley married Ada Winnifred Woodman 13 Mar 1920 Bristol. Although I have the marr cert I can find nothing which might lead me further finding the birth or parents of Arthur, I Have been unable to trace anything birth or parentage on Arthur although it seems he may have Been born Up North Manchester or possibly In Australia??
