Hi Colin, Thank you for your two responses to my previous messages about the WILTSHIRE family of Westerleigh. There is more information about this family in other CDs produced by Bristol & Avon Family History Society. www.bafhs.org.uk For instance there is reference to the burial of Adam WILTSHIRE, on 8th. March 1807 at Westerleigh. No age is given, but he could have been Adam, the father of Adam WILTSHIRE who was baptized at Westerleigh in 1797, and the husband of Sarah WILTSHIRE (nee GARDINER). This burial is included in Bristol Diocese Burial Registers Vol. 3 Index & Transcripts 1754-1812. If this burial is that of Sarah's husband, then Sarah could be the widow, Sarah WILTSHIRE, who married Richard CONSTABLE at Westerleigh in 1814. More on this marriage in another message. Good morning Josephine, Again my thanks for your help with this research on the WILTSHIRE family, I do appreciate your help, it never ceases to amaze me how some folks go the extra distance to help others with their research. Hi Colin, Thanks for your three responses. It has been interesting following this family through the Bristol Diocese resources. I was wondering why I couldn't find a baptism for the elder Adam WILTSHIRE in the Bristol Diocese baptisms 1754-1812 or in the Nonconformist Baptismal Registers in Bristol Record Office 1754 to 1837. This could be because he was born out of the area. I have come across a reference to Adam WILTSHIRE, labourer, 6th. March 1795, in the Westerleigh records held at Bristol Record Office, which might hold a clue: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/a2a/records.aspx?cat=002-pw&cid=-1#-1 Josephine -- Josephine Jeremiah www.ianandjo.dsl.pipex.com
