    3. Hi Listers, Does anyone have any information about the above company in Gloucester during WWII. My father appears to have been working for them between 1941 & 1944. I say 'appears' because I thought he spent all his working life in carriage & wagon railway works at Swindon - in fact he received a watch for 45 years service in 1970! Were people seconded for the war effort but retained their service record for the lending company? I have a carbon copy of a letter from the company to the Ministry of Labour & National Service challenging his call-up (on form N.S.250) since they felt he had indefinite deferment. Unfortunately, being a carbon copy, the company's address is not on the letter. Initial research into the company suggests that in peacetime they made car bodies & had a Head Office in Coventry, but I've no idea where they were in the Gloucester area or what they were involved in for the war effort.
