Hi List , Can anyone help please with info on Painswick Independant Chapel ? I'm trying to obtain a copy of document for a marriage that took place there circ 1851 - i have the Mcert but am trying to get a copy of the church record due to a discrepancy with the Gen Reg Office version . Apparently the Glos Record office say they do not have marriage records for Painswick Chapel for that era - but do these records survive and if so where else might they be found ? Any help or advice much appreciated , Kind regards , Nancy

Nancy, You don't mention the names of the parties concerned, but you should find a diferent transcript from the Glos Registration Service Register at Gloucestershire BMD Index 1837 to 2005: > http://ww3.gloucestershire.gov.uk/bmd/ This would have been transcribed from an original register.
