    1. [GLS] ROBINS enquiry
    2. Gillian Taylor Shaw
    3. Dear List I am trying to locate earlier information on family that resided in Laverton, Icomb, Aldsworth, Buckland area, the details I have are for:  William ROBINS born c1786 Icomb who married a Catherine c 1783 (possibly maiden name of SMITH but only say this because I cannot locate a more suitable lady named Catherine for a marriage around this time). Catherine on the 1851 census states she was born Allswarsh, Gloucestershire though this is possible Aldsworth, Gloucestershire and has been transcribed incorrectly. Possible children:  Mary ROBINS c1826 born LavertonThomas ROBUINS c1826 born LavertonElizabeth ROBINS c1821 born Laverton?Richard ROBINS c1826 born Laverton? Elizabeth ROBINS married a man named Thomas TROTMAN from Henley on Thames in 1844 Richard ROBINS married Sarah DENDLEY in 1845 Mary ROBINS married William JOYNER (Joiner) in 1847 Thomas ROBINS married a lady named Harriet or also used the name Ann ? Any help with baptisms, marriages etc would be greatly appreciated or if someone can point me in the right direction. Best regardsGillian Taylor Shaw

    3. Hi I am posting a request on behalf of someone else for any information on ascendants/descendants of the following family 1841 Census has James Moore 41, living with Sarah 46 with children George 14, James 12, John 10, Sarah 8, Henry 6. He states that he was born in Gloucestershire. In 1851 he says he was born in Bristol and 1861 in Westbury, so guess looks like Westbury is correct. His son James marries Harriett Stock in 1854. thanks Tony

    3. Hi Hugh Thank you for taking the time to search for this marriage. I found the name Hester Mower on a tree on Ancestry but there was no source to back it up. I know that William Biggs born 1780 Wellsley married a Hester as from census detail 1841 and 1851 Hester is shown on the 1851 census at Kemble as being born in Didmarton 1788 First child born Sherston Magna 1809 so my next step will look there Thanks John -----Original Message----- From: Hugh Kearsey Sent: Friday, July 01, 2011 6:53 PM To: gloucester@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [GLS] William Biggs - Hester Mower marriage John, The wife is not Hester MOWER!
