Hello! Standish Park Farm is at Ordnance Survey reference SO 825 076. Travel along the B4008 from Stonehouse towards Gloucester. At Stroud Green, turn right. Turn left at Bartlett's Green. Go past Tiled House Farm and Stratford Farm. Pass through Oxlynch and go up into the hills. Standish Park Farm seems to be in an attractive valley in Standish Park, with a lake, which is not shown on the OS map of 1865. It looks like a nice place to visit! Can any lister lay claim to Isaac GAZARD of Wotton Under Edge, Glouc, in their family? I'm trying to establish if he would be the father of my Elizabeth Gazzard who married Emanuel Stephens 21 May 1816 at Wotton Under Edge. Isaac's daughter Elizabeth was christened 28 May 1797 at North Nibley. The only birth date I have for my Elizabeth is 30 Mar 1800, which was calculated from her death record. I'm hoping that these would be the same Elizabeth. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Bev in Indiana USA

Hi, my husbands uncle died from drowning on the 24 July 1956, and the death certificate says Mitchell's Gout, Holesmouth. I wonder if anyone knows where this place is, as I can't seem to find it anywhere. Albert Bernard Colbourn was aged 30 and lived in Portishead at the time, working as a Dock labourer. if anyone has any more information I would love to hear from you. Thanks. Lin
Hello all I am researching the John COLWELL (b.1821 Painswick) and Sarah HERBERT (b.1821 Poulton). In 1881 John and Ann were publicans and living at 25 Woodwell Crest, Bristol, St Augustine, Gloucestershire. Though I do not know the name of the pub. Johns parents were William and Phoebe, and Sarah's were Richard (of Pulton) and Ann. I would be interested in anyone else researching these families. Sarah had originally married Robert TRAISHER CROOME (b.1816) and had children by him, but he appears to have died by 1843. I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who knows any more about him too. Emma Monmouth
Hi Am so glad to see someone else is interested in Dunn! I am desperately trying to find EMMA DUNN born circa 1831. She says in most census records that she is born in Thornbury but no record can be found. In one census she is from Itchington , again no record of birth. She apparently married Joseph Preater/Prater and their first child was born in 1859. Again I can find no marriage record. She is like a mystery to me and so if you are searching DUNN please please look out for Emma - thanks Lois, Portsmouth Uk

My apologies the NLW is the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth. Abstracts of Wills proved at ST Davids are held by Pembrokeshire Records Office at The Castle in Haverfordwest. These just give the names of the people and estates mentioned in the wills and of course the date. Microfilm or possibly computer images of the Wills are at NLW and there is and has been talk of putting them on the Internet. Don't know if it has progressed to the done stage yet. Best wishes, Katherine ----- Original Message ----- From: <PIGMYHIPPO2001@aol.com> To: <gloucester@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, February 17, 2007 6:32 PM Subject: Re: [GLS] DUNN family of Tirley, Sandhurst, or Apperley > Thanks for the info, what is NLW? sorry if I am ignorant. > > Regards > Sue > _____________________________________________ > > Browse the list archives at: > http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/GLOUCESTER/ > > Keyword search - any or all lists: > http://archiver.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/search > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to GLOUCESTER-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
My many x's GGrandmother was the daughter of Henri Dwnn killed during the War of the Roses at the Battle of Edgecote, nr Banbury in 1469. If you ever get to Carm Records Office which you need a CARN card for, they have a long Roll Pedigree made by Major Francis Jones which links the daughter of John Dwnn with the family of the Queen Mother through marriages with the Howards and Seymours(I think). At the time I knew a lot less than I know now so didn't make a copy. If you try the archives site of NLW at www.llgc.org.uk:81/ you will find many references to the Dwnn family and their land transactions around Kidwelli dating from around 1300-1400.
