    1. Re: [GLS] Elizabeth Annis
    2. Thanks to Ian and Maureen who replied to my request. Firstly Maureen no i do not know fathers name indeed that is what i need to discover. Ian many thanks for the igi listing but i have gone round in circles trying to confirm a number of possibles without success. I was hopeing someone had this lady in their tree. What i do know from census is that Thomas Bick c 1824 Barnwood Glos married an Elizabeth also listed as c1824 Glos. My gt grandfathers birth cert quotes Elizabeth Annis as mother. I have the details of decendants for Thomas but nothing certain for Elizabeth. I cannot even find the marriage of the couple. Their first child Charles was born 1848 so i searched the marriage index for a few years before. Found a Thomas for the first quarter of 1848 but could not find a match for Elizabeth. This lady is so elusive. Jackie

    3. Hi Jackie A quick search on IGI ( www.familysearch.org) came up with ELIZABETH ANNIS chr 5 Oct 1823 St Aldate's , Gloucester. Batch ref I022102. Father John ANNIS, mother Elizabeth ANNIS. There were other possible ANNIS entries too. Further searches of the IGI for the parents might be fruitful. 3. Hello Katherine I have found the Dunn connection Thomas Gravell married Jane Dunn on 5 August 1819 in Pembrey Carmarthenshire. - I haven't yet established how this particular Thomas is related to all my other Gravells, but I am working on it! Thank you for listing a few - I have these already, and they have a place in my tree. I grew up in a small village in the country just outside Kidwelly, so know the area pretty well. Thanks again for the original link Regards Elizabeth >

    1. [GLS] Gravell wills for EMG Seddon

    3. Hi, I've found these:- Evan Gravel Kidwelli 1831 John Gravel Kidwelli 1840 Thomas Gravel Llandefeilog 1832 John Gravell Llangendyrne 1807 Thomas Gravell Llangendyrne 1848. There are various wills for the Donn,Donne, Dunn family from 1605. Some lived in Glamorganshire, some Pembrokeshire and others in Carmarthenshire. Llangendyrne and Llandefeilog are not far from Kidwelli or Carmarthen Town. Hope this is of help. Can you give a vague date for the Gravell Dwnn connection? Katherine

    3. Hi, A rather belated reply as your original e-mail got sent to the delete box by mistake. My connection with the Dwnn family ends around 1500 but I'm always interested in them. I've not heard of a Gravell Dwnn connection, in fact Gravell is a name unknown to me, I wonder where it originated or possibly what it could have been. In Carm Records/Archives there are the original Voters Lists for a no. of parishes for 1722,1727 and 1754. They give parish of residence and parish where freehold land was held. Another much earlier document is being transcribed by the London Branch of Welsh Family History Societies, it is a list by parish of all the people who contributed to the rebuilding of St Paul's Cathedral after the fire of London. I have only seen 2 parish records but they are relatively easy to read and the sums of money vary from 1d to 2s. I'll try looking for a Gravell will for you but will let you know only if I find one. Best wishes, Katherine ----- Original Message ----- From: "EMG Seddon" <emgs@sunholme.demon.co.uk> To: <gloucester@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 20, 2007 5:26 PM Subject: Re: [GLS] DUNN family of Tirley, Sandhurst, or Apperley > Hi Katherine > > Thank you so much for your link to the archives site of NLW. Hi David, Ranelagh Road, off Barton Hill Road, was in the Barton Hill area of St. Philip & St. Jacob, Bristol. It isn't listed in my current A-Z of Bristol Bath and looking on the appropriate page I can see why. There was a lot of redevelopment in this area some decades ago and the street names in this locality now have different names. Cyril and Doris were in Basingstoke in 1976 when his mother died and I do not know when they moved to Stroud.
