    3. I 'm looking for decedents of a Lt. F. B. Little. 240 Bde R.F.A., Gloucestershire Volunteer Artillery, who appears in the WW1 diary of Capt F.S. Gedye. M.C. on the Italian Campaign.dated NOV. 1917-1919. for confirmation of his service with the above unit. He may have been seconded or attached for a time. Only two, one line references appear in the Diary, no other info held. {1} "During the evening, which Matt, Little and myself made into quite a historic occasion." {2} " Little was on duty at the battery. Rook at liaison and the Major and I at the mess hut." Does this LITTLE fit with your family? There are 3242 ref's to LITTLE on the Nat Archive WW1 medal roll, far to many for me to look up. I also found 602 London Gazette Editions that contain the name "LITTLE". for the period Nov 1917-1919. Regards Derek Derek J. 3. Can I just thank all those who selflessly do the 'looking-up'. Its a wonderful facility. Does the system now work across most counties ? I am waiting for the day - when a marriage between a James and Ann Jennings will come to light : c. 1770-1780. But since I don't know which of the counties surrounding Hereford it took place in I am having to bide my time. One day it will appear. Best wishes Patricia Graham ----- Original Message ----- From: "takitimu" <silverfern@unwired.com.au> To: "Mail list GLOUCESTERSHIRE" <GLOUCESTER@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, March 09, 2007 11:46 PM Subject: [GLS] Gloucestershire Look-up Exchange > Hi Listers > > It's that time again where I remind everyone about the Gloucestershire > Look-up Exchange. > > For anyone who doesn't know what it's all about, it is an ever-growing > list of volunteers who have resources in their > possession and who are willing to do "look-ups". 1. [GLS] Calling all WORLOCK researchers
    2. Jane Slowgrove
    3. Dear All I have spent many hours in the last few months trawling through all the censuses with a soundex search on WORLOCK. I have put a tree file together with all the information on it and wonder if anyone able to receive GEDCOM files wishes so see it. All I ask in return is that any connections you can make you do so and let me know. Many names are not connected, some are children who were born & died between census years and without getting the birth certificates I do not know to whom they belong. Many of the weddings I can't be sure as there may be several Samuel's for example who could be the groom mentioned. I have these names in an excel file. If interested please let me know, all of the Worlock's seem to be connected to the Gloucestershire area in some way, the name seems to be spelt WARLOCK, WERLOCK, WORLOCK and finally WHERLOCK. Please reply off list as non Worlock researchers I'm sure will not wish me to ask otherwise. I hope with your help perhaps we can sort out how they all fit together. Thank you Jane (nee Worlock) --------------------------------- TV dinner still cooling? Check out "Tonight's Picks" on Yahoo! TV.

    3. Hi Carol, I don't know if you're using Outlook Express, but when my digest attachments arrive I don't download the attachment, I click on the paperclip and then click on the message I want to read. Then I click on 'open' rather than 'save to file' and the message is opened for me. Or you could contact the list admin and request that your mailings aren't sent in MIME format, and then you'll get the messages as a continuous email as in the Gamorgan list, rather than as an attachment. 3. Hi Everyone, I found my greatgrandfather in the Glos. online database telling me he was in Jail so I emailed the records office quoting the ref number and asked for a copy of the record. They sent me an application form and quote by return email. I returned the form and payment by snailmail and several weeks later the docs arrived to my door. 1. [GLS] BALLINGER
    2. Eveline Clarke
    3. Hi I was wondering if anyone else was researching the Ballinger family who lived in Charlton Kings. Mary Ballinger baptised 25th April 1790 and was the eldest of 8 children (that I have found). Betty 1791, Ann 1792, Thomas 1794, Charlotte 1796, John 1797 who died before 1798 as they had another John in 1798 and Hannah 1800. They were the children of Thomas Ballinger and Mary. The only marriage I have found for a Thomas and Mary (about the right time to be their parents) is Thomas to Mary Gillett 4th November 1788 in Buckland, which is feasible as Buckland is only about 12 miles away as the crow flies. However, I have not been able to "prove" this marriage. If there is anyone else interested in this family, I would love to hear from them. Eveline
