    3. Hi Janet, Thank you for sharing your Wall family but none of them sound like the ones I found for Estelle. good luck with your search Ann JANLWH@aol.com wrote: Hi Ann, My Wall line is from Tewksbury (William WALL) born 1791. His parents were John WALL and Nancy unknown. William is later found in Slaughterford, Wiltshire (not too far away) married to Elizabeth unknown born 1786 in Wiltshire. He was a farmer. They have at least 3 sons William (19), Thomas (15) and Richard (10) on the 1841 census. Richard WALL later moved to Breconshire, Wales and was a miner. He married Naomi Stephens and their son William WALL married Elizabeth TRUSCOTT and they were the parents of my grandfather, Alban Truscott WALL. It was said that William left his family to go to America to look for gold in California. Alban Truscott WALL came to Pennsylvania, USA with his TRUSCOTT grandparents in 1887 when he was 5. He worked in the coal miner's there from the age of 10 until he was disabled with Black Lung at around 45-50 yrs. old. Imagine being only 50 yrs. old and already having 40 years of work under your belt!!!! I head from another list member that Tewksbury was a tight knit town in the period that my WALL family lived there. I am assuming that most or all of the WALLS from there at that time are related in some way to my family. It was kind of like the small town that I grew up in Pennsylvania. I don't know too much about the WALLS because of the abandonment of my 2nd ggf William WALL so it is very possible that my WALL family from Tewksbury spread all around the world where ever England had a strong hold. It reminds me of the last scene in "How Green Was MY Valley." The author was showing his Mother a world map and locating for her the places that her children had gone. South African, South America, USA and Australia. It made me sad to see this close family spread all over the world, especially when travel was only possible by a long sea voyage. I sure would love to other WALL families from the Tewksbury and Slaughterford are. Any WALL information from this area would be very much appreciated. 1. [GLS] George Davis and Elizabeth Nichols
    2. I am researching George Davis and Elizabeth Nichols, married 31 Jul 1814 in Berkeley. I believe this George Davis was the son of Thomas Davis and Ann Hale, who was christened 6 Jul 1783 in Slimbridge. From the will of Thomas Davis, George was alive when Thomas died in 1823. Thomas willed all his Blacksmith tools to George. >From the 1841 census, I find a George Davis and wife Elizabeth living in the Parish of Berkeley and this George is listed as a Blacksmith. There are no children listed. I would like to hear from anyone researching this family. 1. [GLS] Thomas Davis and Hester Clifford
    2. I am searching for information on Thomas Davis from Slimbridge and Hester Clifford, married 16 Jan 1810 in Horsley. I believe this Thomas Davis is the son of Thomas Davis and Ann Hale who was christened 6 Jan 1780 in Slimbridge. >From the 1841 census, I find a Thomas Davis born about 1780, who's wife is named Hester and they are living in Frocester. Hester's age is listed as 45, which would make her birth year about 1796. >From the 1841census, they have the following children: Louisa Davis, born abt. 1828 Matilda Davis, born abt. 1832 Maria Davis, born abt. 1836 Thomas's occupation is listed as Ag Lab. I can find a Thomas Davis buried 25 Feb 1847 in Frocester and I believe this is the same person, as he does not appear in the 1851 census. 2. I'm not certain that this ties into the recent thresd on the WALL line, but in tracing my JAMES family I find the marriage in 1770 in Clutton, Somersetshire of my Elisha JAMES and Betty WALL. 2. Just thought I would add to this. If you go to the advanced search type in your name plus another search phrase. This maybe a city or county, then click th box mark "all words" or similar you can also search for exact phase, this allows you to put in full names. This is the case for many search engines. There is also an area which searches entry's from outside the a2a website, not sure how, but in my search for Elizabeth Allen on the a2a site I clicked on an interesting entry and was direct to the Ancestry site??
