Hi Pauline I don`t think we have the same Joseph. The Joseph I have married a Betty ?. I don`t know her maiden name as I only have her from 2 census records. I believe their son William born about 1830 is my 2 x great grandfather. They were living in Northleach in 1841 and Thomas and William were later in Cheltenham. To add to the growing list of assorted Bayliss family, this might help.... I have a George Augustus BAYLISS who married Eliza COCKBILL. Since Eliza is only a very minor twig on my tree, I've never got round to researching her and her husband! But she was born in Filkins (Oxon) 1843 and that village is only a short step over the county border from Glos so perhaps he might be the elusive George..... Steve
Hi Jan, I have a Joseph Baylis who married a Matilda Rogers 13 July 1829 in Shipton Oliffe and Shipton Sollars and then they lived in Withington where they had a son, James. Hi listers Does anyone have the records for Gloucester Gaol please? I am interested if there is a James LANGSTONE, circa 1832 in prison. I have found evidence of a document at Gloucester Record Office on A2A, and it mentions a Jesse Bliss, John Fisher, Richard Davis and James Langstone, tried for assaulting a Sarah Day at Prestbury, on 17 January 1832. I am intrigued as James Langstone, although not a direct ancestor, is in my tree. I am just eager for details! Pauline Tamworth, Staffs
