    3. Paul It looks as if this is Charlotte in 1841 census but with the ages and no relationships in 41 census. Could James be an older brother with wife and child, and 2 of James's sister Charlotte and Ann. Working on this assumption the IGI have James' christening in 1809 to a Stephen and Elizth. (Elizabeth) There is also another children to them Elizabeth ch 1811, Joseph 1807 all at Down Ampney 41 census Name Sex Age Profession/Occupation Where Born Original census image -------------------------------------------------------------------------- HAYWARD, James M 30 Gloucestershire VIEW HAYWARD, Maria F 20 Gloucestershire VIEW HAYWARD, Charlotte F 13 Gloucestershire VIEW HAYWARD, Ann F 10 Gloucestershire VIEW HAYWARD, Stephen M 1 Gloucestershire VIEW -------------------------------------------------------------------- RG number: HO107 Piece: 354 Folio: 10 Page: 15 Registration District: Cirencester Sub District: Fairford EnumerationDistrict: Ecclesiastical Parish: Civil Parish: Down Ampney Municipal Borough: Address: Down Ampney, Down Ampney Another senario could be that Maria is not James's wife but another sibling and Stephen is hers or a nephew. Sorry I do not have the 51 census to follow these possibilities. But looks like child named after his grandfather! Oddly Stephen and Elizabeth are still alive living in Down Anpmey Census -------------------------------------------------------------------- HAYWARD, Stephen M 52 Gloucestershire VIEW HAYWARD, Elizabeth F 50 Gloucestershire VIEW -------------------------------------------------------------- RG number: HO107 Piece: 354 Folio: 11 Page: 16 Registration District: Cirencester Sub District: Fairford EnumerationDistrict: Ecclesiastical Parish: Civil Parish: Down Ampney Municipal Borough: Address: Down Ampney, Down Ampney Sorry this does not prove Charlottes' parents but hope it gives you something to progress from. There is an outside chance that James is her father and maria is a second wife. 1. [GLS] Frederick Allen born abt 1805
    2. Can anyone help with my Frederick Allen, he is my brick wall and can go no further without help. I have convict records that give his age and place of residence (Downend). There is a entry on the IGI's for him but this was not from records and was submitted by a unknown person. I think his mother may have been Elizabeth Allen, as she is mentioned on the convict records, he also named three of his daughters Elizabeth, and two sons Frederick, so just a guess his parents maybe Frederick and Elizabeth. Does anyone have some suggestions, have had several people from this list look into the census records for Elizabeth but cannot say if anyone of them are the one I am looking for. Frederick was in here in Australia by 1828. Any suggestions help is much appreciated thanks Caroline

    3. Hi Patsy, I currently have this film ordered in to my FHS - Cirencester 1548-1812 and am searching through for my Smalls - I can have a look through and see what other Wheelers I see and any extra info it has (if any ) about the marriage that was sent. During this time I noticed a high number of marriages in Cirencester where both parties are from other parishes and it does give the information of where the parties are from - no other info re fathers etc. are in these registers. At this point births in Cirencester for the most part are listed with fathers only. I will be going to look next Thursday and will let you know if there is anything Take care Sue

    3. Hello everyone, Has anyone any ideas as to how I can gain more information on the ancestor above who was baptised at Ebrington in 1775. I have found a marriage at Shipston on Stour in 1809 of a Emanuel Jarvis to a Ann Rymill with one witness being a Sarah Jarvis. The Emanuel from Ebrington had a niece Sarah baptised at Ebrington in 1784. I never include information in my tree until it has been positively confirmed. Can anyone suggest how I can follow this up. Searces for children of Emanuel and Ann in areas around Ebrington and Shipston have shown nothing. Any ideas? Regards. Colin Jarvis.
