Here's the information:- Date of Birth: 1st June, 1909 West End, Avening, Glos. Name: Leslie Sex: Boy Father: Albert Tanner Mother: Ellen Tanner formerly Knight Registered District: Tetbury If anyone would like this certificate I will mail it to them. I live in the USA so would need snail mail address. Here's hoping someone can claim Leslie. Sonia Brakowski (NEE Tanner) NJ USA
Hi, I can't find him either, but given that he was described as a Fisherman in subsequent census records, perhaps the answer is that he was away at sea on the night of the census and you may never find him. I have various references to the Hyatt/Hiett/Hyet/Hiat family in the Westbury on Severn area in the 1640s & 50s - Jeremy Hyet. He seems to have travelled up to London on occasions and was obviously wealthy as he was described as a gentleman. I have other references to Ellen Maria Hyett in 1901, John Hyat in 1551, John Hyet in 1701, and Francis A Hyett in 1908, William Henry Hyett of Painswick House Esq in 1838. I may well have other references, it is just that I haven't hunted them out. If you know more about Ellen Maria or Jeremy Hyett, I would be most interested. Hi Bob Bristol & Avon FHS have published transcriptions on CD of various parish registers, including St James, and details of these are available on the Society website at www.bafhs.org.uk if you look under "Shop". All baptisms and marriages from 1754 to 1837 have been transcribed, and burials from 1813 to 1837. Burials from 1754 to 1812 are being worked on at present, and will be available in due course. The CD of Burgess Books lists a Richard Wodesdon, an apothecary, who became a burgess in 1581. There is a look-up service for memorial inscriptions, and details are on the website under "Services". All our publications, and the memorial inscriptions, will be available at the Society Open Day to be held on Saturday 27th September at Thornbury Leisure Centre from 10 to 4. Admission is free, and there are guest speakers and activities for children as well as the usual stands from commercial suppliers and family history societies. Details are at www.bafhs.org.uk. This appears to be correct as all siblings were chr in St James between 1774 -1792. Of the children I have been able to possibly account for four. As mortality rates were high I am now suspecting some may have perished and were buried at St James. The Siblings were: 1. Elizabeth De Blios Wooddeson chr 1776; 2. John Wooddeson chr 1778 posible married in 1824 Basingstoke Hampshire same area where William Wooddeson died (grandfather); 3. William Wooddeson chr 1778 relocated to london became a Stationer; 4. May I remind you that this list is specufcally GLS focussed, and so only GLS queries are appropriate, please. The resource Glen is using isn't so inaccessible to all list members! The easiest way is to start at www.ancestry.ca , where the passenger list collection is prominent. Anyone can search the collection - but needs a subscription to Ancestry covering Canada to look at the details. A pay as you go subscription is always worldwide, with the easiest way to discuss details being the toll free phone number available from your own region of Ancestry by clicking the help link.
