Supposedly "Vaney" as he was called, was either a Senator or Respresentative from Inidana, I have a large portrait of him and a cane he hand carved. My husband is his namesake and we would love any information. Supposedly we are related to the Ohio Glicks and the Pennsylvania Glicks and the Kansas Glicks He was married to a Molly McCallie. Any info, please I would appreciate

Glick. Gideon Glick (11 Feb 1822-5 Feb 1901) was born in Jackson Twp., Stark Co., Ohio. He married Minerva Wholf/Wolf (3 Aug 1827-15 Sep 1914) on 6 Nov 1845, in Summit Co., OH. He is the son of Jacob Glick (1787-1833) and Rebecca Slanker (1789-1864). Arthur Glick says "the records available do not show any relationship between the Glicks in Fairfield Co., Ohio and the families of Jacob and Rebecca Glick." Gideon migrated to Clinton Co., IN, then to Jones Co., Iowa and Arthur Glick then loses track of Gideon; however, his and Minerva's grave site is in Summerfield, Marshall Co., KS. A "family group" consisting of Gideon and his siblings? Someone here on this board had info that "Gideon" was in Fairfield co., Ohio. Although I'm not doubting his info, I just have absolutely no record of a Gideon here -- my guess is that he was no where near Bloom township in which my GLICK info primarily exists (and then up to Henry Co., OH or IN and other places west).

    2. You might want to check my site, or keep the URL handy for future reference. I know some of the GLICK families I have in the database went to Bartholomew (sp?) Co., IN. I don't 'follow' them once they leave Fairfield Co., OH except if I happen to run accross them elsewhere I put in their death date and burial location in. Your Glick's may be descendants of this family who was originally from PA, then to OH, then a couple families went to IN and IL. www.geocities.com/foorgenealogy/gene.html "Genealogy in Bloom Twp., Fairfield Co., OH
