Surnames: Brand, Glick, Sheperdson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YRZ.2ACIB/143 Message Board Post: Does anyone have information on the children of William Glick and Lydia Brand? I have the following information from a secondary source: Lydia was born on 1/7/1844. She being the youngest received benefits the older siblings worked so hard to get. Her education was not neglected, she did not stay home & work, she spent 7 month's a year in school. The erection of her parents new home afforded her a better social life & privileges. She grew up to be a more refined lady. She was babied. At the age of 23 she was married to William Glick, a son of Dan Glick a native of Ohio. They began their life on a farm that (as of 1/23/1953) their grandson William Sheperson now lived. The farm constituted 120 acres & was purchased at a small cost. Quiet a bit of the land was cleared & developed. It yielded them abundantly throughout their entire life. It was at this place that their two children were born: Sarah; & Palleina. After 1900 they moved to Mulberry & left the farm in the care of Palleina & her husband, who continued its cultivation. William died on 1/9/1904 & Lydia died on 8/13/1907. They were both members of the Methodist Church of Mulberry & politically were Democrats. They were considered a credit to the community. This sounds like something from the Biographical Record and Portrait Album of Tippecanoe County, but I'm not sure. According to the 1880 census, William and Lydia had two children: Mary Orilla Glick (14) and Iva Ann Glick (7). William and Lydia were married in 1865, so there would not be older children that have moved away. Lydia was living with her daughter Mary and Mary's husband Sheperdson (I can't make out the first name) in the 1900 census. I could not find a William, suggesting that he had passed away. I'm beginning to think the biography is in error. Does anyone have any additional information on this line that may help? Thanks!

If it IS the same man you're looking for, I guess I could xerox info from the book. I am not aware of that being a copyright infrigement. And PS to ALL GLICKS, I am still looking for Glick families of this lineage that have CMT disorder - it is a disorder of the muscles and peripheral nerves. Thanks. ~ GG

John William Wotring, b: 12/20/1740, married Christina Kocher were the parents of Daniel. John William died in the Seneca Massacre of Wyoming in Luzerne, PA on 7/3/1778. Daniel and Susannah Woodring are the parents of Jacob Woodring who married Susanna Baer Schlosser and gave birth to Susan Woodring who married Reuben Glick. Susan and Reuben Glick are the parents of Minerva Ann Glick who married Jacob H. Barkdoll and had Susie Mae Barkdoll who married George York Klumpp. Iva Mae Klumpp, their daughter married Jesse Dee Hartman and they are my grandparents. Susanna Baer Schlosser's parents are also buried in the Glick Hoy Cemetary. Her father was Tobias Schlosser and mother was Mariah Catherine Baer. Anna Mariah Swander married Beryamen Glick whose parents were Johann Peter Gluck and Anna Maria Herr. Johann Peter Glick was the son of Lorentz Gluck and Magdalena Krug whose father was Michael Gluck and mother w! as Magdalena Seitz. Frederich Schwander is my ancestor and his wife was Eva Glick (descended from Johann Philip Glick and Susannah Barbarine) and the parents of Anna Mariah Swander Glick. Do you know if there is any sort of marker on the graves without a headstone? That disturbs me. Susanna Horner's father, Jacob, born 1755 in Fairfield County should also be buried nearby, I would think. I am descended from Peter Johann Gluck who is said to have died where the Glick Hoy Church is located and I have seen pictures of his large headstone which I hope is still standing. Annie
