Hi there, My cousin has done quite an extensive amount of research into my Glenday background. There is a James Gibson (Birth 14 Nov 1818 in Carstairs, Lanarkshire, Scotland; died 15 Sep 1899 in Wentworth, Ontario, Canada). Also, a Marion Gibson (Birth 15 SEP 1864 who died Wentworth on 11 NOV 1933). There are no Peter Glendays (so far!). George was the name of my uncle who died in WWII in Italy, so that's definitely not the same one. We must be related, because my ancestors seem to be all from Angus county in Scotland. I will look up the facbook page on the Glendays, should be fascinating. Dec. 27, 1803, his father was Joseph Glenday, and his mother was Jean Kerr b.1767, her father was Alexander Kerr, i have traced family lines directly to this, i have met many of my relatives from this George who wed Ann Gibson on Oct 28, 1827 in Forfar, Angus! (on a face-book site called 'Glenday's there are more than we thought)' wouldn't it be great if there was a huge glenday family tree that could be seen on-line? ~ cindy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Susan Chambless" <susan.chambless@gmail.com> To: <glenday@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, March 31, 2010 4:40 PM Subject: Re: [GLENDAY] would like to post glenday family info > If you haven't looked at http://www.rootsweb.com, take a look at it. > You can post information here, or on the Glenday forum, or you can > upload your GEDCOM or build one on-line. > > What sort of information do you have? hey Glenda for sure, that interesting, the Gibson name, i have an Ann Gibson ancestor who married George Glenday Oct 28, 1827, so it sounds like that generation of my family could have been related through their sister's brother's etc., as well, my dad met a John Glenday of Scotland he's an accomplished poet who was on a book tour here, he is on our personal facebook, and he gave me the details of his last 4 generations that don't match ours, but may match yours! why don't you add me Cindy Glenday on fb, easy to find, i'm the only one, and i will send you an invite to the glenday page and then u can go right to it, there are alot of diifferent factions on there, some related to me, others definitely could be from your glenday line?
