Surnames: Gleghorn, Henson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/yQZ.2ACIB/43 Message Board Post: I am searching for information about decendents of DT Gleghorn (David Thaddeus). I am most especially interested in Donald L and his son DT. I have a photo of DT taken about 1944 at my grandmothers home in San Diego in his military uniform. My grandmother is Grace Ella Gleghorn Henson daughter of David Thaddeus. Grace Ella's adopted son JD Henson was my father. I have just recently received the photos and although my father was adopted he looks VERY much like Grace Ella and DT. In fact two of my sisters and one brother look so much like Grace Ella you would think they are her children. I am trying to locate my fathers birth parents and the photos have become my best lead ever! If you have any information on the David Thaddeus family I would appreciate any help you might have. The LDS test site is as follows. http://32.96.111.13/default.asp It is up and running but slow. I am anxious for them to get it going, should be helpful. I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to this list, please feel free to discuss your families or post your information, I am a little slow in getting this site started hope it picks up soon. I will post what I found on Ancestry.com hope it helps someone.: Associate Reformed Presbyterian Death and Marriage Notices Volume II: 1866 - 1888 Compiled by Lowry Ware Scmar Columbia, South Carolina 1998. Died, December 3rd, 1883, of old age at his home in Lincoln County, Tenn., Mr. Samuel GLEGHORN, in the 89th year of his age. The deceased was a venerable man. It is not thought that he ever was sick. He raised and cultivated with his hands seventy-eight crops consecutively....He was born on Rocky Creek, Chester, S.C., where he lived until he was about thirty....There he married Mary Crawford and emigrated to Tennessee about sixty years ago, casting in his lot with Dr. Bryson and the Prosperity congregation. Thence he moved to Morton's Creek and was ordained an elder in the Zion congregation (an organization that was disbanded about thirty years ago because most of the membership migrated west) when he connected with Bethel congregation. In the same Death and Marriage section by the same person was the following: December 31, 1885, by Rev. J. C. McDonald in Izard County, Ark, Mr. A.C. Oldfield and Miss Sarah J. GLEGHORN, daughter of Mr. John Wylie GLEGHORN was married. I hope all of you have a happy Easter. linda s-w, IBSSG Proud Rootsweb Sponsor
