I am the Great great great great Granddaughter of James Gleghorn - brother to your Matthew. James daughter Rebecca Elizabeth Gleghorn married Samuel Silas Wilson in Hemstead County. After the War they moved to Navarro County, Texas and did come back a few years later to visit their parents in Arkansas. I have been looking for the grave of James Gleghorn for a long time and had no luck. I do have a picture of Rebecca & Samuell, also the original marriage license from Hempstead County. Do you have any clues for me as to where to start looking for James Gleghorn grave? His wife came to Texas but his will was probated in Arkansas. What a muddle.. I guess he died in Arkansas... 3. Hello June - I saw a message you sent to Ladonna Rowlett on the Gleghorn message board and it reminded me that we have "talked" about the Gleghorns in the past. I took some time away from genealogy but I'm trying to find the time to get started again. I am a teacher now but hope to retire in May and I'll get to spend more time researching the Gleghorns. I really enjoy it! My Gleghorn connection is from James Gleghorn (1810-1859) and Mary Johnson. James was a brother to your Robert Gleghorn (1812-1905). James daughter was Rebecca Elizabeth Gleghorn (1838-1899) who married Samuel Silas Wilson. Their daughter (my great grandmother), Isadora Norwood Wilson (1864-1942), married Andrew Jackson Davis. Their daughter (my grandmother) was Vera Davis (1899-1993) who married Ben Shell. Then to my mother Imogene Shell Hollingsworth (b. 1925), then me Jim Hollingsworth (b. 1946). These Gleghorns settled in Navarro Co, Texas (Spring Hill) before moving on to the area around Gonzales, with some settling in North Texas around Seymour. Great great grandmother Rebecca Elizabeth Gleghorn is buried in the Spring Hill Cemetery near Dawson, Navarro Co, Texas. Her sister, Eliza Ursula Gleghorn is buried next to Rebecca. She was married to William Andrew Gleghorn (b. 1848). Let me know what information you need and I'll see what I have.
