    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: kefo44 Surnames: Gleghorn Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.gleghorn/49/mb.ashx Message Board Post: This message comes from a researcher for the London Metropolitan Police archives, Keith Foster London. We have a mystery to be solved concerning the burial place for the 1st London Woman Police Officer to be killed-on-duty: BERTHA MASSEY GLEGHORN, died 19th June, 1944 aged 33. We have had no success in tracing in the immediate council cemeteries near the incident, Tottenham Court Road police station. It is suspected that the family may have taken the remains back for a local burial, but where? We would very much appreciate the help of the Gleghorn researchers on this site. We now these further details; She was born 9th October 1910 but not as Gleghorn, though she was always an unmarried woman. We have traced a birth as BERTHA MASSEY LAWSON (her correct 2 christian names) in Midlands, Dec Quarter 1910. We have then traced a marriage in Darlington of a GEORGE GLEGHORN to --LAWSON & SARAH ANN LAWSON to --CLEGHORN(sic) Sept Quarter 1915. So part of the mystery begins to unravel. In the official Civilian War Dead Roll of Honour her parents are named as George & Sarah Ann Gleghorn -but no place of residence for them is given. Maybe in finding the burial place of George & Sarah, we will learn if Bertha is buried nearby? I would very much appreciate the help of any Gleghorn researcher/family tree compiler who can provide positive details including photographs of headstone etc (remuneration to be discussed) for burials of these people, especially the woman police officer named. My direct email address is: kefo.44@btopenworld.com During our research we have traced a further male police officer who served in London with the name Gleghorn. Hopefully we can swop details on this vital enquiry. Thank you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: dianagw Surnames: Gleghorn / Coulter Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.gleghorn/48/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My name is Diana Wittenberg. I am actually researching all the Coulters who are descended from Nathaniel Coulter. His children are: Mary, Robert, John, Michael and James. My husband comes down through Michael who married Janet/Jonet Cumming. Their children were Margarit, Jonet, John, Michael, Marrion, Elizabeth, Michael, John, Robert, Alexander, Janet, and Hugh. Robert married Mary Stuart and had children Archibald, Mary Ann, Elizabeth, Margaret, Robert Stuart, Anthony, James, and John. This is my husband's line through Robert Stuart. Robert Stuart's sister, Margaret Coulter, married Andrew Graham. Margaret and Andrew's daughter, Elizabeth, married John Matthew Gleghorn. I would like to correspond with any Gleghorns in this family. My email is dianaanddon@cox.net. Also, we are having a Coulter reunion in Springfield, Missouri on June 1, 2008. It will be held at Lake Springfield at 11:00 a.m. We have a shelter house so if it rains, we are protected. It is pot luck so everyone is asked to bring one dish. We have so much food left over that one dish per family is always plenty. Table service will be provided. Bring your own drinks. We visit, compare notes on the families, and have a great time. Sometimes someone brings a copier and we can make coopies of information. Anyone wishing to attend, please email me and I will send you a map to the lake. 3. LaDonna, I also have been ill and I have not worked on The Gleghorn Tree for some time. I am very sorry to hear you have been ill. I remember talking with you a couple of years ago. I was told by Shirley Ann (cousin) and Billie Faye ( cousin) that I needed to get ahold of Ruth Ann (cousin) that she had alot of information on our Family Tree. Her computer was on the blink I believe at that time and I wasn't able to get ahold of her. But now that you have the information I would be very grateful to receive it from you. I have a picture of all the brothers and sisters taken many years ago at the park in Seymore at one of the family reunions. I got it out of my mothers pictures .If you would like a copy of it I would love to send you one, you might have it already. I took copies to one of the Palmers reunions I attended a few years back and gave to alot of them. I remember Uncle Jim and Aunt Georgie from my childhood days, My grannie was Bernice Gleghorn Crawford. My mother was Lucille Crawford Kilgore. I also lived in Seymour, Texas for a short time in my younger days. What ever you have and can send to me, Thank you. I now live in Columbia, Tn and I ,live next door to Lincoln Co. , I have a Columbia address but really live in Marshall Co. next to Lincoln Co. When I started my family tree and found out about Lincoln Co., I thought my goodness, and I ended up living next door to Lincoln Co. I just recently started back. I am sorry it has been so long. The information I have came from a cousin. In it there is a history of the family and how Matthew came to the US from Ireland to fight in the Revolutionary War. I would be happy to share what I have though it is going to take me some time to familarize myself with it again. The information I have on Matthew's children are that he had 13 children and his wife is unkown at this time. Not all of the children are listed but it is quite poaaible that some of them died very young. LaDonna Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
