I am William W. Howe, a descendant of Joseph Howe. When I saw your inquiry about the Glattfelder Book, I just had to ask about your Hemphill surname and family. My great-great grandfather was Joseph R. Howe, who was married to Mary Clarissa Hemphill before 1835. Only two of their sons lived through the Civil War, Robert T. Howe and Joseph L. Howe. Joseph L.
