Our computer program that colates our information has a bug in it for one and we have not had time to get with the programmers to get it fixed. We were all set to go to print and tried to print out the galley copy to send to the publisher when we found the bug... Razem Frazem! The other reasons are... We have been in the middle of a custody battle for my cousin's children with the state of Georgia. The father is in prison in Texas and my cousin is indigent in Texas. We are moving her to live with my parents here in Utah next week to get her back on her feet. The children have been in Georgia without family in foster care since last July. We are also filing suit to remove parental rights permanently from the father. Jeanine and I were just awarded custody 2 weeks ago of the two children (ages 4 and 6) by the court in Georgia. We are now in the middle of getting paperwork completed here in Utah to get them here. We have learned a lot about our court system the past few months. It has been an education that I would not like to have again. We are getting some more bedrooms finished downstairs to move children around to make room for everyone. We have been doing all of the framing, sheetrocking, wiring, etc ourselves with the help of Grandpa Hartman. Our new big house just got real small. Every square inch is now planned, spoken for and in the midst of being completed. At least now our new house will get done in a timely manner. The upstairs was completed from the time we moved in and there was no real hurry to finish the downstairs until now. Jeanine is heavy with child due in June. This is child #7 and unplanned at age 42 but we are very happy to bring this child into the world (already named Seth Ryan Hartman). We are having to get a nursery put together since we have not had a baby in our home now for over 10 years. Jeanine also tires easily these days but she says this is the best pregancy that she has had. She has not had a lick of morning sickness! We just sent our second son off to a Church mission in Argentina a couple of weeks ago. Our oldest son comes home from a Church mission to Guatemala in September. We still have a house in Tooele to sell after our move to Bountiful last summer. We are having to go out there occasionally to make sure all is well and keep our real estate agent motivated to sell, sell, sell. If you know of anyone wanting to move to Tooele, Utah, let us know. Other than that we are trying to maintain sanity and hold down the fort with work and life with our 4 children still at home (ages 17 to 10). We will be getting back to the book soon but do not see getting it out until at least summer now. I know that many are waiting anxiously for the book. If you hear of anybody also in the dark as to where it is, feel free to pass this on. One good thing about the delay is that we are still getting sent family information and adding to the database. We hope that all is well with you. We really appreciate our family and we consider you part of our family. We truly love all of our family. 1. [GLATTFELDER] Tobias Hartman Deed
    2. We have placed a scan on the net of an original deed conveying 45 1/2 acres to Tobias Hartman, Sr. from John Hart dated 11 May 1779. This is the first piece of property that Tobias owned in York County and was part of a larger piece of property that was conveyed at his death. This deed was made available by Bob & Jean Robinson of York County, Pennsylvania (THANKS!), now in the posession of Don & Jeanine Hartman of Bountiful, Utah. Two of Tobias Hartman Sr.'s sons (Johannes and Ludwig) married granddaughters of Johan Peter Glattfelder, b. 1700 and one of his sons (Tobias, Jr.) married a granddaughter of Casper Glattfelder, b. 1709. The deed can be found at: http://midatlantic.rootsweb.com/familyhart/documents/index.html We have other documents and photographs at this site from other family members. We sure appreciate their donations! If you have other family documents or pictures that could be placed online relating to these families (Glattfelder, Rhyne, Hartman et al), please let us know. Thanks! Don & Jeanine http://midatlantic.rootsweb.com/familyhart/

    2. Dear Don and Jeanine, Glad to hear from you, and learn the reason for your relative silence the past weeks. Congratulations on the expectancy, and hope all is going well with Jeanine. Your oldest must be near college age, so that is quite a spread. By the way, I didn't realize you were using present location in the database, so the data I sent you would mention that someone was born or died in Lincoln County before 1 Jan 1847, even though the land is in Gaston Co. today. Most marriage data for that period is from Lincoln County marriage bonds. There were two brief death notices in the Gastonia Gazette today, presumably with more information to follow tomorrow: Abel Robinson Lineberger, age 94, died 25 Nov 2000. Lewis(Louie) Richard Lineberger, age 79, died 24 Nov 2000. Obituary of Doris Anthony Beam, widow of James H. Beam. Died 24 Nov 2000 at age 69, in Montrose, AL. Survivors: son James H. Beam, Jr., and his wife Barbara, and two granddaughters: Catherine Elizabeth Beam and Charlotte Ann Beam. Burial will be in City Memorial Cemetery, Cherryville, Gaston County, NC. Take care.
