The annual Rhyne Reunion just finished this weekend in Dallas, Gaston County, North Carolina. The Reunion Committee met following the reunion and has decided to make next year's reunion one to remember for years. There will be a bus tour of historical sites of the Rhyne family roots, games for the children, genealogy and historical workshops, and more...Basically an all out effort. The reunion in 2001 will be held Friday August 5th and Saturday August 6th in Dallas, North Carolina. Please place this on your calendars and plan on attending. The Rhyne Reunion is for those families that descend from Jacob Rhyne and Lisabeth Glattfelder; Thomas Rhyne and Elizabeth Rudisill; and Hans Martin Rein(eau) and Magdalena Freymuller. Other friends are also welcome! Another note....Funding for placing a Memorial Marker in the Wolf Cemetery in York County, Pennsylvania is progressing nicely and should see a marker placement in the next year. This marker will memorialize Hans Martin Reineau and Magdalena Freymiller and family. More information will follow...

Don, I don't know if it is to late but I have just found out that we have been spelling a name incorrectly. Melvina Kirk that married James W. Clodfelter is really spelled MALVINA. It is spelled like that on her gravestone. A Cousin went by and took a photo of it last memorial day. He said that it is spelled that way on the wedding license as well, Although I haven't recieved a copy of that at this time. Just thought I would pass on the information. Pam

To all: We still have about 2 feet of correspondance from the Postman to input into the database not to mention several GEDCOM files that were emailed to us. That should take us a couple of weeks to get into the database. When that is completed, we will make a galley copy for our printer and will be able to get a cost for the book to you all. We can say right now that it will be contained in several volumes. It will be indexed. It will be sold at cost of printing and shipping only. Many thanks to all of the family members that have contibuted!!!!! This will be the largest family publication yet! As far as names go, this book will have about 4 times the number of names as the original Glattfelders in America. It will also be bigger yet because of the format (Modified Register this time) which will include more information than the original book on each family. If you know of anyone (especially from the Pennsylvania branches of the family) that have not yet contributed, they still can if they hurry!!! Sincerely, Don & Jeanine 485 Oakview Lane Bountiful, UT 84010 801-397-3678
