My line of research goes back eight generations to the marriage of James Glass (possibly born about 1730) and Eva Williams on 9 Oct 1758 at Dover Church in St. James Northam Parish (formed in 1744) in Goochland County (currently Fluvanna County) by Reverend William Douglas. I am reasonably certain they did not suddenly appear from a spacecraft fully grown, yet I cannot find any information on where they were born or who their parents were. It is a reasonable assumption to believe they were also Ulster Scots who migrated through Pennsylvania to Virginia. They may have arrived in America on one of the Palatine vessels in the 1730s, but so far, I've not found a single ship manifest that has any Glass surname aboard. I believe that James may have had two brothers by the names of John and William. I would appreciate any information you may have on James and Eva, their parents, siblings, or any of their six children (including Archer Glass - my line). Dave Glass dglass@gte.net
