Hi list members, there has been a problem at Rootsweb with their Automated Mailing Lists. The problem is now fixed and hopefully everything can now get back to normal. I would suggest that EVERYONE who has posted anything at all to the list since September 11th 1998 PLEASE re-post it. Those that are in Digest mode may have missed out on your message. The second point is that some of you are corresponding directly with each other on matters of GLASS genealogy ie. by-passing the list. This is fine as far as it goes, however, the information that you are passing to each other could also be of interest to others on the list. We must always remember that a small piece of information that we think is only relevant to the person we are sending it to could be of major importance to someone else who can not see it if it isn't on the list. The list can not work if all of us simply sit in the shadows waiting for something to appear that is helpful to us. We all have something in our files that may or may not be relevant to our own personal research, it may however be of GREAT importance to someone else who can't find it. The most successful genealogists are those that help others by sharing what they have. Try it you may be surprised.
