M B. WELLBORN, a Justice of the Peace, in and for the County and state aforesaid, LEVI GLASS, now a resident of Barbour County, Alabama, agedeighty seven years, who being duly sworn according to law, doth , on oath,make the following declaration in order to obtain a pension under the existing pension laws of the United States.l That he, the said LEVI GLASS, was a private in the company commanded by Captain Joshua HADLEY, in the battalion of Major Robert BAIFORO, and regiment of Volunteer Infantry Commanded b Col. LITTLE - alias LITEL- alias LEIGHTER ( affiant not knowing how to spell the Colonel's name) under General EVERS in the war of the revolution between the United States and Great Britian of 1776. That he volunteered at Fayetteville, North Carolina in January AD 1782 for the period of 18 monthes - marched to Wilmington, and thence to the Ashley River in South Carolina, and joined the forces under General GREEN under reparation for an attack upon the British then in Charleston. >From Ashley River affiant was marched to James' Island near Charleston where he was honorably discharged in March or April AD 1783 having served about thirteen or fourteen months. BRYAN Officer - arrears to present. ******************************************************************* other numbers in file 32.933 183315 ******************************************************************* >From the files of Rosa Lee Glass page 1 of 2 LEVI GLASS RS b 1764 File #S10749 B;WT 71212-160-55 page 2 of 2 April 26, 1855 APPLICATION FOR BOUNTY LAND # State of Florida, County of Holmes On this 26 day of April AD one thousand eight hundred and fifty five, personally appeared before me , a justice of the peace within and for the County and State aforesaid, LEVI GLASS aged 91 years, a resident of Holmes County in the State of Florida who, being duly sorn according to law, declares that he is the identical LEVI GLASS who was a private in Company commanded by Captain Joshua HADLEY in the __________regiment of _________commanded by Col. Litle in the Revolutionary War between the United States of America and Great Britain, that he inlisted in tthe State of North Carolina on or about the last of December 1781 for the term of eighteen months and continued in actual service in said war for fourteen days, that he has never made application for bounty land under this act nor any other Act of Congress and that he has never received a land warrant. He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which he may be entitled under the act approved the 3rd day of March 1855. He also declares that he has never applied for nor received, under this or any other Act of Congress, any bounty land warrant.
