Bruce, I have some information which may be of use, in the book Tracing your Ancestors, in the Scottish Record Office, Publ. by HMSO , they have photocopies of R. C. records at R.H. 21, the earliest is 1703, also in Edinburgh are the Scottish Catholic Archives, Columba House , 16 Drummond Place, Edinburgh, EH1 1HX I am also looking for Alexander Farquharson,in Aberdeenshire but born about 1820, some OPR's Have Catholic entries, i.e. Cabrach, Aberdeen, has a register of children of Roman Catholics 1767-1819 Has anyone had problems with the ORIGIN site at the Scottish GRO? they keep saying no records, even when I put in for events that I have certs for! and E Mail to their problems@origin.net site is undelivered. good luck with your research George
