To Rnzinn@aol.com I think that you will find that Jehu is a name in and of itself and is not an abbreviation. It has its own Hebrew characters and should not be confused with Jesus which is a diminutive of Joshua and not Jehu. In the Hebrew Testament, the name Jehu is given to the son of Hanani [I Kings 16:1,7,12] as well as the son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nishi, and the founder of the 5th dynasty in Israel [II Kings 9]. Your request reminds me of another name that is a name in and of itself: Eliza is not a diminutive of Elizabeth. It should be allowed to stand on its own as the writer of Uncle Tom's Cabin knew quite well. However, many people rewrite the name Eliza to Elizabeth and they should not do that.
