Hi: Put a pin in Pleasant Hill, CA which is about 25 mi east of San Francisco, just over the hill from Berkeley, more or less. (Next to Walnut Creek, if that is on your map.) I have had no luck searching for Elisha (Elias, E.W.) Glass who came to California 1849/50 and died in Diamond Springs, El Dorado Co., CA in 1853. Supposedly he came from TN or KY. Surely someone has a missing several times great uncle who left to make his fortune and never came back. (He married and had a daughter in California - there is no evidence that he made his fortune.) P.S. I have a non-Glass related nephew who lives in Nelson, NZ. I couldn't find your location on my very poor map. ??
