RE: Glass, Dudley The Dudley Glass referenced in Don Grossman's msg was Dudley Glass, Sr. In fact he had five wives of record: Frances Priddy was the first, followed by Nancy Carr (m. 2 Apr1803) (Page 52), Ann Simmons (m. 15 Nov 1805) (P59), Nancy Ragland (m. 28 July 1806 (P62), and Sally Carr (m. 22 July 1811) (P76). The latter, Sally Carr, is mentioned in his will. The page numbers reference Halifax County Court House summary listings of Marriages after 1800. Some believe that Sally Carr was Dudley's second wife. I can only tell you what the records show. There is a listing for Dudley Glass marrying Frances Tune on 28 Jan 1828 (P128), however, Dudley, Sr. died in 1827 and his will probated in October of that year. So unless Dudley was reappeared from the grave ready for more weddings, then the Dudley Glass referenced was someone else. Dudley Glass, Jr. had two wives (either Anne Sparks or Margaret Russell -- the records are imprecise), but he definately married Jane Givens in 1803, and they were in Pope County, IL. Dudley Sr and Frances Priddy had as their issue: John S. Glass (m. M Simmons) Frances Glass (m. Thomas Ragland) Molly Glass (m. M. Farmer) Judith Glass (m. ? Irby) Dudley Glass, Jr. (m. Annie Sparks OR Margaret Russell) - #1 (m. Jane Givens) - #2 Dudley Glass, Sr. was a 2nd LT in Captain John Milner's Company in the Rev. War. I wonder if any of them ever knew they would be subject to such intense study? And by electronic means at that!
