Hi Bruce: Add my pin at Hartland, Carleton County, New Brunswick, Canada, home of the Longest Covered Bridge in the World. Hartland is about 70 miles north of the provincial capital, Fredericton and it is located on the banks of the beautiful St. John River. The material published in the list to date has been very interesting, but I have not been able to make a connection with my branch of the "Glasses". My great great grandfather, John Glass, said in a Land Petition filed in Gagetown, Queens County, New Brunswick, in 1823, that he was about five years from his native country of Ireland. Perhaps, a connection can be made through his daughters: Phoebe (husband's name unknown); Eliza (married William Anderson, a musician and soldier); Margaret (married John Hather). All of these girls married British soldiers, stationate at Fredericton, N.B., and returned to the U.K. John's sons were: Robert (my great grandfather) stayed in N.B.; John may have been killed in the Battle of Williamsburg in the U.S. Civil War [he married a Carrie (last name unknown) and they had one son, Charles Lockwood Glass,] and William C. went to San Francisco and was not heard from after the great earthquake of 1906(?). Two others sons died young. I am hoping that some day "The GLASS List" will provide a connection so that we can share our notes. I don't mind you publishing my mailing address - 55 Clark St., Hartland, N.B., Canada E0J 1N0 Good Researching! John Glass
