    1. Levi Glass (The Elder)
    2. Hello all, Unfortunately, I have no new real data to provide. It appears many of us are stuck on Levi Glass (The Elder). I have been in contact (via Email) with some wonderful people from Scotland for about 1 1/2 years now and will share with you his latest message regarding the terminology "The Elder". His message reads as follows: Hi! Bud, I’ve managed to find out that the term Elder, more than likely emanates from Scotland and is a Presbyterian term, usually identifying an office bearing member of the church. Going that far back to the 1700’s it could also mean that Levi Glass had a son, or there was another person with the same name living in the same town or village, and attaching the title The Elder would distinguish between them. Sorry I can’t be of any more help, the information came from a local minister. My Grandfather whom passed away in 1958 always said our part of the Glass family (Levi) started with 3 brothers whom came to US from Scotland. Happy hunting to all. Bud Glass, Shelby, Ohio, USA.
