Benjamin Alexander Glass born 1796 near Charlotte, N. C. and later moved to Selma, Al. had no sons. Franklin Potts Glass (editor) of Selma and Montgomery , Al. was the son of Benjamin F. Glass of Bibb Co. Al. He was the son of Thomas Glass born in Charleston, S. C. in 1792 and moved to Bibb Co. Al. where he died in 1838. His father was Ebeneser Glass Pollock who fled to Charleston, S. C. after having slain an English Army Officer during an argument in Scotland.(his home) He concealed his identity by dropping the Pollock name. It is believed his mother's name was Glass.
