    3. Hi List Members, I hope all of you are researching hard and having some success. I am still in the process of refiling all of my research notes and have just come across a letter that has a lot of information that may help someone. It comes from a letter written to me November 24th 1995 and is from Mr Guerdon L Churchill Jnr, P O Box 326, 4564 Hwy 12, Valley Springs (Calaveras County), California, 95252. "My Great Great Grandparents were David Glass and Eliza Jane (Hall) Glass who arrived in California in August of 1850 with three covered wagons and eventually made their way to the San Remo area in Contra Costa County where they purchased over 700 acres of the Jose Maria Amador Spanish Land Grant called the Amador Grant. They had the following children. Mary Priscilla Glass born December 13 1845, died June 19 1845 at Millersport, Ohio. Francis Marion Glass born July 6 1847, died October 15 1850 in Hangtown (Placerville) California after their arrival in the covered wagon train. Albert William Glass born February 25 1852. He was a farmer and noted horse breeder in Sycamore Valley, Contra Costa, California. Clara Isadora Glass born February 9 1854 married Edgar Durkee Ivory a clerk in the railway mail service between California and Oregon. Annette Idel Glass born May 11 1856. She and her sister Loretta ran the Glass Ranch all their lives. She was a noted artist also. Never married. Loretta Irene Glass born July 26 1858. Never married. Franklin Lafayette Glass born april 11 1861. County Clerk at Contra Costa County, Post Master and later Judge. Frederick Elmer Glass born June 16 1864. Involved in operating huge ranches in Nevada and California. A tax appraiser and very much involved with banking in Nevada. Lived in Reno, Nevada, and Oakland, California and developed water rights throughout the San Joaquin Valley in California. He was my Great Grandfather. Clement Rolla Glass born June 6 1867. A fascinating man who graduated from Unervisty of Pacific. Spent some time in the 1896 Klondike gold rush and later very involved in tin mining in Bolivia primarily. He was killed in 1909 and his son Vincent was sent there to be raised by his brother Frank. Vincent graduated from St.Mary's College. However nothing is known of this family." I hope the above is of some use to someone out there. If it is please let me know as I have a letter here from another lady who is connected to this family. Best regards to you all, Bruce Glass, List Master, New Zealand.
