    3. I am new to the list, and would be very pleased to hear from anyone with possible connections to my GLANVILLE family history. My maternal grandmother is Elizabeth GLANVILLE, b 1900. Her gg grandfather was William GLANVILLE who founded a GLANVILLE lineage in Bedminster, Bristol. He married Ann SHORT in 1823. There are a couple of hypotheses concerning William's birthplace and year, but, given information in census returns and William's death certificate, his birthplace appears to be London, abt 1793. I have only just started to examine GLANVILLEs in London but using Jay Glanville's WWW information, IGI and Ancestry.com, the most likely lead is a William GLANVILLE Christening: JUL 1793 St Botolph Without Aldgate, London, London, England (Parents: John and Elizth GLANVILLE.) (IGI). A marriage entry is consistent with the parents' names is: "John Glanville m. Eliza (or is it "Elizth") EVANS in 1790 at St Botolph Without Aldgate, London (Ancestry.com)". Thanks Darryl (Gwynne) Georgetown, Ontario, Canada
