My Aunt told me years ago that our encestor Willam de Glanville came from France to England with William the Conqueror. But when I looked through the list of key people who came with William, there wasn't a Glanville. It would be really good to tie the 18th century Abingdon Glanvilles into the various Glanville extened families identified by Jay. It could be a big job and take a fair bit of research. Interesting to hear about the Glanille streets in Abingdon. There's a Glanville Terrace in Auckland New Zealand named after my great granfather. He came to NZ in mid 19thcentury, but returned to Basingstoke in England after his store was burned down 2-3 times. His sons, ie my grandfather and great uncle, then came out to NZ 2 or 3 decades later in 1909. Cheers David
