Folks, this will be one of those very rare posts from me advising the list about a virus alert. As many of you are likely aware by now, a new type of worm has appeared over the last 24 hours or so that does NOT require an attachment to be opened in order for the virus to be activated. It's called by various names by different AV providers, many of the names "Beagle" or "Bagel", and there are a number of brand new strains, including -O, -P, -Q, -R, -S, and -T. Most newspapers around the world today will have a news report about this new worm, with more details. This post is NOT meant to alarm anyone, and no-one should be alarmed IF (a) you have regularly updated(!) AV software running, and (b) if running in an Microsoft Windows environment, you regularly download and install the most current MS patches.
