This message is directed to all members subscribed to the list in either the Mail mode (messages received individually) or Digest mode (messages accumulated in a single message). The purpose of this message is an attempt to conserve RootsWeb Archive space and make messages easier to read and understand. On occasions, members subscribed in the Digest mode will return the entire Digest of messages when responding to a particular message within the Digest or when forwarding a particular message from the Digest of another mailing list. Such practices take-up unnecessary storage space within the RootsWeb Archives and besides, trying to sort through an entire Digest of quoted messages to find the applicable quotes to a particular message can become a difficult task. Please, DO NOT hit your "Reply" button and return the entire Digest of messages to the list when responding to or forwarding a particular message. If you choose to use your "Reply" button to quote a particular message within the Digest, please edit the "Subject:" line to reflect the subject of the message being quoted. Prior to sending your response to the list, PLEASE highlight and delete all quoted text not applicable to your response such as headers, taglines and other messages. On occasions, members subscribed in the Mail mode will respond to a particular message without deleting unnecessary quoted text. Prior to sending your response to the list, PLEASE highlight and delete all quoted text not applicable to your response such as headers, text and taglines. For example, when responding to a question concerning an individual in a descendant report which is a 20,000 byte message, the responder does not have to return the entire 20,000 byte message as a quoted message to address the question. Probably, all except five or six lines can be deleted from the quoted message.
