Hi Lyn It could be that 'Hill' was its local nick-name. We do have a tendency to abbreviate in Wales. So I would do the same as Dai has suggested, using the streets he has suggested and also look for places like pubs or chapels there on nearby. If it was from a census it should be possible to browse the neighbouring streets to try and tie it down. There is a Hillside in Neath; Hill Road in Neath Abbey; a Hill View in Jersey Marine; and a Hill Street in Melincourt / Briton Ferry. I can find no modern street named 'The Hill'. Does it still exist? I want to get a perspective of where various family members were. Regards Lyn In Oz. --
