    3. Bore da That is about the extent of my Welsh other than to have a translation done!! My name is Kay Armstrong and I live in Newcastle, NSW, Australia. My ancestoral family were Welsh miners in Glamorganshire. My email address is: [email protected] I have been given your email address by Alun @ Glamorgan Family History Society. He and Jean have been very helpful to me in tracing this family. I will explain what they have given me. GFHS sent me information on the family of William Phillips and his wife, Rachel (nee Thomas). William's father was David Phillips b.1819, d.1859. He married a Margaret Morgan or Margaret Morris in either 1838 or 1839 in Neath. They had 8 children. I was given information from Census records from 1841 through to 1891. Jean suggested that I contact your organisation to see if you had information from Parish records of David Phillips' family (correct wife's name, parents, BDM, siblings, children etc). They were a Nonconformist family in Llangwig. Would there be information in your records also as to the departure of William and Rachel Phillips from Wales in 1886 (date, name of vessel, why they would have emigrated)? I know they left Ferndale in 1886 with 4 children as my mother and I were brought up by this family in Stockton, NSW, Australia. I was told by the then youngest child she was 3 months old when the family left Ferndale to come to Australia. There were 3 more children born in Stockton after their arrival. Jean was also able to find me information on Rachel Phillips' family - the Thomas' - which was really great, however couldn't give me any further information on the Phillips family. Thank you in advance for any help which you may be able to give me. I look forward to hearing from you. Kay Armstrong.

    3. Dear Kay, Welcome to the Glamorgan Mailing List, You wrote:- GFHS sent me information on the family of William Phillips and his wife, Rachel (nee Thomas) I am sure that they sent you dates for the family Kay, but they are not shown in your message to the list. Could we have some dates and places for this family please, so that we are better able to help you if we have William and Rachel's dates and places of birth.
