Hello, I am searching Bridget Grady whose maiden name may have been Moran, may have been Shea or there may have been two Bridget Gradys? I believe that Bridget Shea Grady is sister to my gr grandfather. John Grady married Bridget in Ireland and had two daughters there, Mary (born about 1846 and married Bartholomew Curran in Glamorgan) and Ellen (born about 1848 and married John Leary in Glamorgan). Both daughters and families, and Bridget immigrated to New Haven, CT around 1871. There were other children born in Glamorgan and/or Monmouthshire. What I am asking is whether anyone has parish records which might give mother's maiden name and godparents which might lead me to either Moran or Shea. I have found the birth of Thomas in my disk of births in Glamorgan ( seems to be St. Illytd's) and his mother is Bridget Moran. The other births I cannot find on this disk but they are in freebmd, as follows: John born Dec Quart. 1859 in Merthyr or in Bedwelty in Sept Quar. 1864; Mary (curious that there is another Mary!), born in Merthyr June Quar. 1859 and Bridget born Sept Quar 1857 in Methyr. I can find them on the 1851, 61 and 71 censuses and do not see another even remotely similar family. In 1861 they were living in Tredegar and it says that John and a Julia were born in Monmouthshire. I have never found any more about this Julia (I wonder if this could be the daughter Bridget?). In 1871 they are in Pennydarren with no Julia ( I can't find her death on freebmd) but with another daughter Mary. John had died by now. This make me wonder if the original Bridget Moran Grady died and John remarried Bridget Shea? Lastly I have a death certificate from New Haven, CT, giving her maiden name as Bridget Shea. I know this is complicated and I apologize but really would like to find birth records with mother's name for these children. Thank you. Sue
