Bear in mind that the patronymic system was still often used in Glamorgan in 18th century. The Harman family certainly did use it and a lot of the Harmans are descended from Harman John who was married at least three times and possibly four. One of his wives was a relative of mine but they had no children. However he did have several children by his first & I think his second wife who all had Harman as a surname. Bob Sanders
