My gtgrandfather Solomon Rood and his wife Mary (nee Ham) moved from High Ham Somerset to Pontypridd, Wales. Solomon is in the 1871 census in Greinton, Somerset, England as a Lodger and he married Mary Ham 03 Jan 1873 in Wells, Somerset. By the 1881 census they are now living in Llanfabon, Glamorgan, Wales. In 1886 Solomon left is wife and moved to Australia. His girlfriend and sons followed 6 months later, leaving Mary behind in Wales. One of Solomon's brothers, Sampson (Samson)lived in High Ham until after his marriage to Susan Sweet in 1888 then they are both shown in the 1901 census as living in Roath, Glamorgan, Wales. They live there and have John, Minnie, John, Daisy, Florence and Minnie. Florence is born in 1897 and from what I can find marries Stephen Cardwell in 1917 and then remarries David Cornelius Williams in 1938. Florence and David have 2 children: Davinia 1931 and Frances 1936. I would like to know if anyone can help me in finding out any information about Davinia and Frances. Angela

There are two possible marriages: Marriages Mar 1954 Williams Davina M Curtis Basingstoke 6b 253 Marriages Dec 1954 WILLIAMS Davinia M LOWERY Newcastle T. 1b 186 If you are sure she was known as Davinia, then the one in Newcastle upon Tyne is the most likely.
