Hi LauraThis might be yours:Morgan JONES married Mary WILLIAMS by banns at Merthyr Tydfil parish church 12 November 1832 signed by mark, witnessed by Thomas WILLIAMS and Daniel LEWIS (probably churchwarden he witnessed a number of marriages). Assuming Thomas is Mary's father (always possible another relative) on FreeReg: Baptised Mary WILLIAMS 29 August 1814 at Ystrodyfodwy to Thomas WILLIAMS a labourer and Mary of Maindy Isaf. There are several Morgan JONES baptisms, two north of Swansea, one near Cardiff and one near Bridgend.Hope this helpsCheersLuned in Blaenavon Message: 2 Date: Sun, 10 May 2015 11:25:43 -0400 From: LAURA CONNORS <lauconn@msn.com> Subject: [GLA] Morgan JONES & Mary WILLIAMS, Merthyr Tydfil To: "glamorgan@rootsweb.com" <glamorgan@rootsweb.com> Message-ID: <BLU178-W4310C2A52C1D1F244B0CA2B1DC0@phx.gbl> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Hi all- I'm researching my 4th great-grandparents, Morgan Jones (born between 1804-1810) and Mary Williams (born between 1811-1815. She died 9 Oct 1875 in Pennsylvania). They married in Merthyr Tydfil in November 1832, according to a copy of a marriage registration that was filed with a US Civil War pension application. They immigrated to the US in the early 1840s with their young son, Gomer Jones, who was born 1840-1841. (Their next recorded child was born in Pennsylvania in 1846). I'm interested in finding out who their parents were, and narrowing down their birthdate. It also seems likely to me that they may have had additional children between 1832 and 1840 who died before they left Wales. Any information, or recommendations for where to find additional info is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Laura Connors lauconn@msn.com
