Many thanks, John, for finding this. Super. You may also like a 12-minute silent film of Ferndale, Rhondda where a Carnival held on 2nd August 1926 in aid of the Distress Fund (to do with the lockout/strike). http://player.bfi.org.uk/film/watch-ferndale-carnival-held-in-aid-of-the-distress-fund-august-2nd-1926-1926/ Jazz bands with kazoos, improvised costumes with contingents as red indians, zulus, guardsmen, pierrots, convicts etc and children in fancy dress. St John Ambulance acting as stewards, and a wonderful collection of caps and hats. Also a more general 1926 film 'Dear Cambria' http://player.bfi.org.uk/film/watch-dear-cambria-1926/ which has some shots of Swansea 1926 eisteddfod, Mumbles and Gower. The commentary stills appears to show a rather condescending attitude which some might say was not untypical of inhabitants of the South-East of England towards Wales even now. So disappointed. I love old footage and about Wales - WOW! Tried to watch all three. I can access the site but just before it starts to play, I get the same error message, "Content Unavailable. I forwarded John's message to various people who are not on the list. One of them replied thus: With a bit searching on that site, I found a film about the Mumbles Railway from the same person - it is at http://player.bfi.org.uk/film/watch-mumbles-railway-1804-1960-last-journey-1960/ in case anyone is interested. It is mainly about the last day of operation, but sadly, it ends with scenes of work to break up the tramcars.
